What is the Driven Charger Rebate?

The Driven Charger Rebate Stream provides eligible Car Dealerships and Repairers with financial assistance to help cover the cost of installing electric vehicle chargers. This rebate is available to Australian automotive dealerships and EV repairers throughout Australia.

Get up to $2,500 per eligible smart EV charger, with a maximum rebate of $20,000 per site.

The Australian Government will invest $60 million to co-fund EV charging infrastructure at automotive dealerships and repairers nationwide, including in regional and remote areas.

Apply using the governments online portal. It's a simple as creating a login, following the instructions to complete your application and submitting.

Who Can Apply?

The Driven Charger Rebate is available to:

Car Dealerships: licenced motor dealer/trader.

Service/Repairers:

  • a service centre associated with a licenced motor dealer/trader
  • an automotive repair business, compliant with Australian Standards 5732:202 2 (EV operations – maintenance and repair) and which has at least one current member of staff suitably qualified to undertake work on EVs.

$2,000 per installed 7kW AC charger. $2,500 per installed 11-22kW AC charger. $2,500 per installed DC charger 50 kW or less.

Application Period

Applications will be reviewed in order of receipt until available funding is exhausted, so it’s important to apply as soon as possible for the best chance of securing funding.
